NDG OFF THE WALL / HORS DES MURS is a free outdoor film and video screening which is a part of the upcoming three-day NDG Arts Weekend. This film screening will celebrate local film talent as well as local media creativity in NDG. The videos must showcase some aspect of life in NDG or simply be created with significant input from someone in NDG.
It will be held on Friday August 27th, 2010 at 8:00pm in NDG Park. The films will be projected onto a large screen in the southwest corner near Marcil and Sherbrooke St., with the audience assembled on the hill that runs towards the chalet. The images will also be bounced off the exterior wall of the Empress Building (Cinema V) as a show of support for the use of that building as a local arts and culture centre.
Submissions for the screening are still welcome and encouraged. Those wishing to participate should contact organizer John McKay at jmckay@videotron.ca as soon as possible.
The NDG ARTS WEEKEND also consists of an outdoor arts fair on Sherbrooke St. on Saturday August 28th and free live music in NDG Park on Sunday August 29th offered by Country en Ville. Organizers are hoping that this will become an annual event.

Little out of character for Moomba but Nicki is running the game right now. See what she’s got this coming Thursday August 5th while she stops by Laval, and performs in Montreal and Quebec for the first time. Tickets begin at $20 but I expect this will sell out quickly so move with haste. Check the official Facebook event here.
So word is that this event has been postponed until further notice, for those who were thinking of showing up next Thursday. Apparently they will be adding a new date shortly but that remains to be seen.

If you have the opportunity to go, I would… cause it could be one of the biggest shows that have ever happened in Canada, period.

He will be joined by his comrades Meryem Saci, Nantali Indongo, DJ BuddaBlaze, Omar Offendum and Members of Nomadic Massive alongside a full band. If you need some help finding the stage it can be found on the corner of St-Catherines and St-Laurent.
