GSlaps Radio Vol. 2: Philthy Rich Edition (hosted by Philthy himself so you know it’s official once again) is the follow up to Volume 1 with The Jacka. Philthy Rich is from Oakland, California and is currently one of the hardest & most relevant artists on the West Coast. He is apart of Livewire Records, the highest selling independent label on the coast, alongside J-Stalin, Shady Nate, Lil Rue, Lil Blood, Stevie Joe & more. If his name sounds familiar it might be from his features with rap legend E-40 and his feature on Pinky XXX‘s “Break Ya Pumps” video.

GSlaps Radio Volume 2 includes some of Philthy Rich’s best material to date and features Bay Area big timers Mistah Fab, The Jacka, J-Stalin, The Hoodstarz & more. Mixed by one of the best technical DJs in the game right now, better known for his blend tapes, DJ Critical Hype.

Sorry for the wait Montreal, but this year has been trying for us all. I kept telling myself to just get the tape together and out already, but somehow delay’s always kept getting in the way. I pledge however that this year we will be doing one of these tapes every 2-3 months at latest. I would also like to thank all of our partners 514Smoke, HitHipHop.com, HipHopCanada.com and GSlaps Entertainment, as well as Nick Fury for hosting and of course DJ Critical Hype for mixing.  Most importantly I would like to dedicate this tape to our fallen legend, and my friend Bad News Brown. He worked so hard to put on and unify the city, and he would be so proud of the direction that we are going right now thanks to his lead.

How could I forget all of the very talented artists that are working hard to put Montreal on the map, and most importantly making good, quality music. I would also like to invite any artists from 514/450 who would like to have there song featured on the next volume that we are scheduling for August. All you need to do is send your music to info[at]escapeMTL.ca and there is a good chance your song will be on the next volume of Real City’s Finest.

Our local scene has come a long way in the past year… but we still have a long way to go. Now let’s get to the music…

DJ Critical Hype does it again paying tribute to the late West Coast crooner Nate Dogg, aka Nathaniel Dwayne Hale who passed away last month. You already know that Hype is the blends king right now. I’m not sure if anyone will ever touch Nate Dogg in the hook game, especially not the T-Pain’s and Akon’s in my opinion.
