In today’s Auto-Tune flooded “hip-hop” industry, it’s so refreshing to come across what rap is supposed to be about – dope lyrics over dope beats. Torae has been providing us with just that since his very successful 2008 street album Daily Conversation. Then he really stepped it up when he hooked up with Canadian producer Marco Polo to release their critically-acclaimed collaborative album Double Barrel under Duck Down Records, who you know always go hard (some of their labelmates include the likes of Smif N Wessun, Sean Price, and Boot Camp Clik). Even better, Torae is also a super smart dude who gave us some great insight into his career and the game.
