And the winner is…

Shouts to Morburn, Top Left Recordings, 514 Smoke & HHC for putting out another mixtape supporting our local scenes. No word of lie I don’t agree with the track-listing 100% but there are some bangers there that help showcase our city… just wish some people didn’t look at our local Montreal scene with hate goggles.

All I am going to say is… about time. I have been saying it for the last 2 years, and finally the fuckery hopefully will come to an end and we will get back to making major moves as the superpower we are. His replacement will be Pierre Gauthier, who has served as the GM for the Ottawa Senators and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and who is also a Montreal native.

Read more on this here, or here… more details coming soon.

Here we go again with another edition of the King of the Dot, Montreal division. This time around they will be doing the event over at Koi Lounge (3603 St-Laurent, corner Prince Arthur) and will be somewhat of a pre-lude to our new Saturday nights at Koi called Showtime Saturdays. To get back to the battles, there will be a couple of our locals batteling like Osa, Justice, Woodman and Chuggo… unfortunately no beat boxing battle like last time. Shout outs to the big homie Loe Pesci who is holding down the Montreal division well, and remember if you think you got what it takes, please holla and we can get you on the next one.

To check out the official Facebook group for the event please check here.

Some new visuals from Magnum on one of my personal favorite tracks of his to date. Video shot by the homie Justin Augustin, who really did his thing as you can tell. Just one of many new tracks and videos from the new mixtape and street album… all coming this spring so stay tuned for that. To the fans & haters, finally a Magnum video on a original beat.

Stay tuned for Revolver Muzik Volume 3, the final installment in the series.

Sorry for the long wait guys, but I didn’t want to rush this project and you know how things tend to hit the back-burner sometimes. Not to worry because this time around I think we have a classic on our hands, with music from all over the city from Magnum 357, Sans Pression, Bad News Brown, i.Blast, Milli Millz, Narcy, mUgz, D-Shade, Dialekt, Hindu Kush, Mr. Bits, Boy6lue and so many more… as well as top notch production from Dirtwork, C4, Theory Beatz for example the product this time around is off the chain. I won’t say anymore except for sending a thanks to all of the artists who submitted their music as well as everyone who helped and had patience with me from DJ Critical Hype, Don Smooth & Nick Fury, Moe Arora, Labnoise, 514 Smoke, Dirtwork, C4 Entertainment, Revolver Muzik Records  and everyone and anyone I may have forgot.

It’s going to be a big year in 2010 for Montreal, let’s hope we finally get the shine we deserve. Track-listing and download links follow…

GZA_jan27_foufs

Wu-Tang’s very own GZA the Genius will be on stage in Montreal on Wednesday January 27th at FouFounes Electroniques (87 St-Catherine East). Joining him will be one of the staples in Montreal hip hop, D-Shade and DJ Manifest on the wheels of steel. Tickets are on sale now for $15 and are available at Off The Hook or High Times, or I’m sure there will be some still left at the door.

Brought to you by Sofa King Raw, who is starting to bring some pretty solid events to the scene so watch out for them. Shouts to the homie Morgan Steikler who always supports that good ol’ hip hop.

Damn this video is off the chain… Nomadic Massive is a collective of some of Montreal’s finest. With Sixteen Pads on the visuals, you know it’s a problem. Big shouts to the homie Narcy, keep making that good music.
